ERSI Free Bike Helmet Giveaway

ERSI bike helmet giveaway

If there is one thing that ERSI truly has a passion for, it is helping the community. On Sunday, August 18, 2019, we had the perfect opportunity to do so with a free bike helmet giveaway. From 1 to 3 PM at the City of Oak Park offices, children and adults stopped by to pick up a complimentary bike helmet and other supplies donated by ERSI.

The public safety initiative came about when Aaron Tobin, founder of E-Z Roll, approached ERSI about donating the bike helmets. The partnership proved to be the perfect fit as both E-Z Roll and ERSI love serving the surrounding community.

E-Z Roll is a family-oriented bike group that rides weekly each summer. Each Tuesday at 6:30 PM, the group meets behind the Oak Park Library to ride eight miles. In addition to your weekly dose of family exercise, E-Z Roll also sponsors events such as visiting art installations, and appears in events such as the 4th of July parade. The club is open to all races, faiths, sizes, abilities, ages, and backgrounds, making it the perfect place to make new friends.

Despite being fun for the whole family, many of the members of the E-Z roll group do not have access to a bike helmet. When our Director of Marketing and Business Development, Linda Klein, heard this, she wanted to encourage safety and the importance of wearing a helmet. As a member of E-Z Roll and a mother of three children, this cause hit home. To promote safe riding, ERSI donated more than 400 bike helmets of all sizes and colors.

Plenty of families showed up to pick out a new helmet, and the event proved incredibly successful. ERSI looks forward to working with E-Z Roll and the City of Oak Park again for future efforts. Enjoy this video and pictures from the free bike helmet giveaway:
